Powered Pleasure Craft
Driving License (PPCDL) Course

The Powered Pleasure Craft Driving Licence (PPCDL) is required for driving of engine powered/jet-propelled pleasure craft (with SZ or SZH licence prefixes) within Singapore port limits.

Training Information

The Boat Shop Asia operates out of Republic of Singapore Yacht Club and conducts the Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License Course at the premises. This is a popular location for the course as the practical handling assessment is conducted at the same area as our practical lesson. 

The course consist of 2 days theory lessons and ½ day of practical lesson. Learners are required to complete both theory and practical lesson to obtain the Certificate of Attendance.

We conduct Malay and Chinese PPCDL as well but classes will only commence when we have sufficient participants.

Course Assessment

Learners will need to pass both theory & practical assessment to be awarded with the PPCDL by Maritime and Port Authority Singapore. These examinations are to be booked through Singapore Polytechnic website.

Theory Test's Requirements
  • Have successfully completed an approved course on the handling of a powered pleasure craft, at any of the PPCDL centres approved by MPA.
  • Must have passed the colour vision test and is not physically handicapped.
